Description

Offering a fine Italian violin made by Joseph Guarneri del Gesu, 1741 in Cremona, Italy.
Still bearing the maker's undisturbed original label:
"Joseph Guarnerius fecit Cremonae anno 1741".
The instrument is in very good condition.
Two piece spruce top of even grain, with repairs.
Two piece back, with matching ribs.
The head is original, with newer neck grafted to the pegbox.
The varnish is of a chestnut brown color over a golden yellow ground. Back length: 359 mm. With case.
